Fisher was born in Westmoreland county, Pa., Oct 28, 1854, and came with her parents to Virginia, then to Maryland and then the family moved to Illinois in 1868 and remained there until she married W. H. Craig April 21, 1878. To this union were born ten children, five boys and five girls. They are: Mary A. Stephens, of Council Grove; McPherson Craig, Della A. Craig, Albert J. Craig and Arthur W. Craig of Americus and Ella M. Wagner of Council Grove; Alta B. Craig died Dec 2, 1905 and Eda V. Craig June 13, 1907, Willie and Williee were born Aug 22, 1882. Williee died Aug. 22 and Willie on Sept. 6, 1882. Mrs. Craig leaves besides her husband and family, a mother three brothers, two sisters and ten grandchildren to mourn her loss. She was converted in Illinois in 1874, and joined the Baptist church. When moving to Americus in Nov. 1890, she joined the M. E. church, where she has remained a member ever since. She departed this life at Americus, Kas., Nov. 14, 1911, being 37 years and 17 days old. Her mother is Mrs. Mary A. Hover of Auburn, Kas. The brothers and sisters are: Wesley S. Fisher, Paruna, Ok.; Joseph C. Fisher, Burlingame, Kas.; Mrs. Belle E. Firestone, Auburn, Kas.; Mrs. Ella Graff, Turon, Kas.; and Austin N. Fisher, Brandon, Col. The funeral services were held at the family residence on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 1911, at 11 o'clock, the Rev. Knepp of the M. E. church officiating. The text had been selected by the deceased before her death and was from Matt. 6th chapter, verses 19 to 21. The songs rendered by the choir were also of her selection. She also had her own funeral robes prepared. The floral offerings were beautiful and very profuse. The pallbearers were: John L. Butler, J. H. Buzzard, A. E. Leet, A. Moon, Howard Ely and W. S. McAuley. The remains were laid to rest in the Americus cemetery. Although suffering great pain for many weeks before her death she was uncomplaining and bore her misery with Christian fortitude. She was an affectionate wife, a kind mother and a Christian example well worthy of emulation. The relatives have the sympathy of the community in their dark hour of trial and have the blessed assurance of meeting their dear one above in a home not made with hands, but a mansion eternal in the glories of the future. _____ Card of Thanks.
