Description	:	Emma Jane Heller, daughter of Jacob B. and Lydia Heller, was born in Adams County, near Nodaway, Iowa, April 19, 1875 and passed away at Villisca, Iowa on July 13, 1966 at the age of 91 years, 2 months, and 24 days. After finishing country school, Emma graduated from Villisca High School and was a rural school teacher for many years. She taught in Adams and Taylor Counties and in Lyman county, South Dakota, while living on her homestead there. After finishing country school, Emma graduated from Villisca High School and was a rural school teacher for many years. She taught in Adams and Taylor Counties and in Lyman county, South Dakota, while living on her homestead there. For nine years she served as Post Office clerk in Nodaway, and was employed by the Iowa Power and Light Company for 21 years. Following the death of her mother, Emma cared for her brother, Frank at Nodaway until his death in 1958. At an early age Emma became a member of the Nodaway Methodist Church and attended church as long as her health permitted. She was also a member of its Women's Society of Christian Service. For many years she was a charter member of the Women's Relief Corps. As the last member of her family, Emma was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Martha Parcher and Laura Woertendyke, a brother, Frank; and a niece Mamie Lyman. Survivors include two nieces and five nephews, Mary Spencer, Guthrie Center, Iowa, Helen Hickle, Trona, California, Harold Parcher, Oakland, California, Neal Parcher, Louisville, Kentucky, Paul Parcher of Chicago, Illinois, and Wayne and Richard Woertendyke, both of Fresno, California, 14 great-great nieces and nephews and a host of friends who will miss her. Funeral Services were held from the Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca, Iowa on July 15, at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. George S. Snyder. Interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery.
