Description	:	Emma Jane Peacock, daughter of Francis and Ethelina Peacock, was born near New Frankfort, Scott County, Indiana, February 2, 1859. She was married to Charles E. Mitchell, of New Frankfort, Jan 6, 1883. They moved west in 1884 and have made their home in Washington State for 22 years. Emma was stricken with the terrible disease, cancer of the stomach, and departed this life Sept. 15, 1909, after weeks of suffering. Belch of this place, her only brother, Abner Peacock, of Jennings County, two half sisters, Mrs. Amy Chandler, of Franklin, and Mrs. Carrie Blunt, of this place, and a number of other relatives and friends. All that could be done was done. Four skilled doctors with a trained nurse of Spokane and Walla Walla were secured, but were of no avail. She was a most amiable and loving disposition, which her friends and relatives will always remember. The deceased was formerly one of Scott County's prominent and efficient school teachers.
