Pressnall, daughter of W.R. and Susan Pressnall, was born December 8, 1866, in Henry County, Indiana, and died July 7, 1951, at Belleville hospital (sic) at the age of 84 years and 7 months. At the age of 13 years she came to Kansas in a covered wagon with her parents. Even the severest of pioneer conditions could not daunt her courage and cheerful spirit. On February 28, 1883, she was married to Elmer Hiatt. Four children were born to this union: Mrs. Mabel Lockwood of Belleville; Mrs. Maggie Jacque of Redondo Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Lola Fry of Chester, and Laurn Hiatt of Munden, Kansas. Early in life Emma confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized. She became a member of Rose Creek chapel (sic) where her life was to be a demonstration of Christian living for many years. Later she took her place in the Munden Methodist church (sic) and here her attitude and outlook have been a constant source of inspiration to the congregation and to her pastors. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died February 11, 1946. She is survived by her four children, 10 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, four brothers and a sister, Lon of Chester, Luther of Munden, Ks., Mert of Belleville, Clint of Mountoin (sic) View, Mo. and Mrs. Effie Smith of Hutchinson. Funeral services were held Monday, July 9, at Munden Methodist church (sic), conducted by the Rev. John W. Frint and the Rev. J. Holland Vernon. Interment was in Ida cemetery (sic).
