Lamont, 94, were held Feb. 24, 1999 (today) at St. John's Lutheran Church, Monticello, with interment in the St. John's Cemetery. Emma K, Lamont of Monticello died Sunday Feb. 21, 1999 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, following an extended illness. Emma Katherine Geyken was born Sept.13, 1904 in Castle Grove Township, Jones County, the daughter of Martin and Marie Tapken Geyken. She received her education in the rural schools near her home. She was baptized Oct. 20, 1904 at SS. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church, Monticello, where she was confirmed in her faith on April 27, 1919. She was well known in the Monticello community as a cook and a waitress, a career she enjoyed for 27 years. On Jan 12, 1927, she married William H.G. (Bill) Reuter at St. John's Lutheran Church, Monticello. They were the parents of a son, Robert William. The couple farmed near Monticello until his death on Sept. 27, 1949. Emma K, Geiken Reuter and Tobe Caspers were married July 30, 1950 at St. John's Lutheran Church. He died July 17, 1969. On Sept. 30, 1970, she married Lloyd Schovel at St. John's Lutheran Church. He died Oct. 28, 1971. She married Victor K. Lamont Oct. 12, 1975 at St. John's Lutheran Church. The couple lived in Monticello until 1990 when her health caused her to move to the care center. The couple divorced in 1991. Survivors include her son, Robert, and his wife Honorine of Waterloo, two sisters, Helena Tobiason and Hilda (Clarence) Stulken, both of Monticello, several step children and their families In addition to all her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Martin and Fred; and three sisters, Hanna Brinkman, Christine Edwards and Frieda Ahlrichs. Goettsch Funeral home, Monticello, was in charge of arrangements.
