Description	:	Mrs. Andrew Klahn, 76, passed away at her home here Monday morning, Jan. 9, 1939, at 4:30 o'clock, following an illness of several months. She was a life-long resident of this community. Emma Louise Bentrott, daughter of the late Fred Bentrott and Wilhelmina Endorf, was born September 15, 1862, on a farm northwest of Wheatland, and attended the rural and Wheatland schools. She was baptized and confirmed in the German Reformed faith and was a member of St. Paul's church. She was married to Andrew Klahn on 13 Feb 1882, and made Wheatland her home since that time. She was a life-long resident of this community. Emma Louise Bentrott, daughter of the late Fred Bentrott and Wilhelmina Endorf, was born September 15, 1862, on a farm northwest of Wheatland, and attended the rural and Wheatland schools. She was baptized and confirmed in the German Reformed faith and was a member of St. Paul's church. She was married to Andrew Klahn on 13 Feb 1882, and made Wheatland her home since that time. The mother of eight children, she devoted her life to their welfare, and when a niece and nephew suddenly became motherless, it was this good woman who opened up her heart and home to them. In fact she was "Mother" Klahn to many of the youngsters, now grown, who found her always the understanding one in whom they could confide. As the mother of a World War veteran she became a charter member of the local American Legion Auxiliary and remained active in its splendid work so long as her health would permit. She was never more happy than when her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were gathered in the home here, and those events were frequent. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home with Rev. Geo. W. Bryant of Cedar Rapids, officiating. Burial will be made in the family lot in Pine Hill Cemetery.
