OBITUARY - One of the sudden deaths that startled and saddened our community was that of Mrs. Fred Scott, which occurred at the home of her parents in this city last Sunday at Noon. Emma Luella was born the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.N. Knott May 4, 1899, here in Tipton, and her life was lived in their community. On December 22, of last year, she was married to Mr. Fred Scott at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, returning at once to Tipton, where they began housekeeping. She is deeply mourned and will be sadly missed not only by her husband and parents and immediate family but also by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances, who knew her and loved her. She united with the Presbyterian church Feb 28, 1904. The following brothers and sisters survive her: Mrs. J.G. Chapman, Willow Lake, S.D.; Mrs. L Kinch, Chicago, Illinois; William, of this city; and Herman of West Liberty. The final services were conducted from the parents home Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, in charge of J Kent Rizer. Music was furnished by the Presbyterian Male Quartette and interment was made at the Masonic cemetery at Tipton.
