At the age of 13, she came with her parents from Indiana to Glasco, Kansas, where she spent the rest of her life. She was united in marriage to Charles E. Brown on Sept. 8, 1892. At the age of 13, she came with her parents from Indiana to Glasco, Kansas, where she spent the rest of her life. She was united in marriage to Charles E. Brown on Sept. 8, 1892. To this union three children were born: Eva, Goldie, and Roy. Her husband preceded her in death on April 28, 1937. Early in life she united with the Christian Church of this community, of which she remained a member until her death. She had been in ill health for the past several years, which kept her at home most of the time. She was a good mother, and her supreme interest in life was her family, and she loved to have them with her. She leaves to mourn her death, one daughter, Goldie L. Brown, and one son, Roy H. Brown, both of Glasco, her first daughter, Eva (Brown) Parks having preceded her in death April 25, 1942; one daughter-in-law, Anna E. Brown, of Glasco; three grandchildren, Marie Haines of Beloit; Neil Parks of Topeka; and Betty barger of Davis, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Donna and Sheldon Haines of Beloit; one brother, James F. Upjohn of Glasco; several neices and nephews, and other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Glasco at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, conducted by the Rev. Clifford L. Moody. Singers were J.H. Cleaver, Cool Blake, W.H. Pilcher, and Lester Pilcher. Mrs. Edna Norton was accompanist. Serving as casket bearers were John Harper, Marion Everley, Jim Hulse, Al More, Eli Pinney, and Oliver Clark. Flowerbearers were Mrs. Merle Beaver and Mrs. Lula More. Interment was in Glasco cemetery, with Griffith Funeral Home in charge.
