Brown, the daughter of Charles E. and Luella E. Brown, was born near Glasco, Kansas, on February 6, 1894, and entered her eternal rest at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lewis Haines and Mr. Haines, at Beloit, Kansas, at the age of 48 years, 2 months and 19 days, after an illness of over three months duration; two months of which she was confined in the Community Hospital at Beloit. On September 22, 1912, she was united in marriage to Clyde G. Parks of Delphos, Kansas; Rev. J.F. Harding of the Methodist Church of Glasco, officiating. To this union were born two children, Marie and Neil Sheldon. She has lived her entire life in this vicinity, and was a resident of their beautiful farm home just a few miles south of Glasco, in Ottawa County. She was a wonderful wife and mother, she loved her home, and her many friends she cherished. She lived her life so sweetly, and the essence of her faithfulness to her family and friends, will ever be manifest. Her father preceded her in death, April 28, 1937. Surviving, besides her husband, are Mrs. Lewis Haines and Mr. Haines of Beloit, Kansas, and Neil of Shenandoah, Iowa; her mother, Mrs. Luella E. Brown, one sister, Goldie and one brother, Roy H. Brown, all of Glasco, and one granddaughter, Donna Marie Haines; besides a host of relatives and friends who will sadly miss her and mourn her passing. A short funeral service was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Haines, Beloit, Kansas, on Monday, April 27, 1942, at 2:30 p.m., followed by the regular services at the Christian Church at Glasco, Kansas, conducted by Rev. R.R. Braddick, with Noble Stein in charge. The singing was by a quartet composed of Messrs. Elmer McClellan, Lester Pilcher, Wm. Pilcher and O.F. Bearnes. (They) sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "City Four Square." Flower ladies: Mrs. Ed Antene, Mrs. J.O. Casey, Mrs. Robert Smith, Mrs. Ernest Haley, Mrs. Lee Skinner, and Mrs. Paul Wilkins. Pallbearers: Messrs. Ed Antene, Paul Wilkins, J.O. Casey, Ernest Haley, Robert Smith and Lee Skinner. Interment was made in the Glasco cemetery.
