Dittmer, a life-long resident of Nebraska and an early comer to the Kramer neighborhood, passed away Sunday at her home, following a stroke that rendered her helpless the last few days of her life. Her age was 81 years, six months, and 23 days. Mrs. Emma Margarettha Dittmer (nee Meinke) was born near Nebraska City on Nov 9, 1866. She was baptized December 5, 1866 by the Rev. E. Huber and was confirmed in the Kramer church on March 21, 1880. On March 27, 1892 she was married to Louis Dittmer by Rev. Huber. Her husband preceded her in death November 29, 1929. Since then she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Kahle, having the best of care. Mother Dittmer missed no church service so long as she was able to attend. When at last she became too feeble to attend, she had her pastor regularly bring the word of God to her. The Lord had blessed her with a strong constitution and only in the last few days when due to a stroke she became helpless. As she wished and prayed for, her passing was peaceful. Left to mourn her loss are a son, William, and a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Kahle, both members of the Kramer Lutheran congregation. Two brothers, John and Fred Meinke, both of Kramer; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. Last rites for the deceased were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at Kramer Lutheran church with Rev. W.M. Pebler officiating. Interment was in the nearby cemetery.
