Rev. Martin Reetz officiated. Emma Marie Hoegemeyer, daughter of Casper and Anna Stork Hoegemeyer, was born July 7, 1885 at Hooper. On July 18, 1963, she passed away at the Oakland hospital at the age of 78 years and 12 days. Her early years were spent in the Hooper vicinity. Rev. Martin Reetz officiated. Emma Marie Hoegemeyer, daughter of Casper and Anna Stork Hoegemeyer, was born July 7, 1885 at Hooper. On July 18, 1963, she passed away at the Oakland hospital at the age of 78 years and 12 days. Her early years were spent in the Hooper vicinity. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at Hooper. On September 27, 1906, she was married to Henry Heitshusen at Uehling. To this union four sons and three daughters were born. Their first home was on a farm near Uehling. In 1912, they purchased a farm east of Lyons, where they lived for 31 years. During these years, they were members of St. John's Lutheran church of Lyons. The year 1943 marked their retirement and their move to Fremont, where they were members of Trinity Lutheran church. Mr. Heitshusen passed away in 1950. Two years later, Mrs. Heitshusen moved to a home in Lyons. Again she became a member of St. John's, where she also belonged to the Ladies Aid and Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Her death is mourned by three sons, Elmer of Craig, Loyd and Norman of Lyons; two daughters, Elsie (Harry Hansen) and Gladys (Ivan McKenzie) of Lyons; ten grandchildren; one sister, Louise Miller, of Oakland; one brother, George Hoegemeyer of Scribner; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, a son, Clifton and a daughter, Mrs. Bernice Nelson. Obituary provided by a granddaughter *************************************************
