GEORGE ANDERSON Mrs. George Anderson, formerly for many years a resident of this vicinity died Sunday night at 12:30 o'clock at the home of her sister, Mrs. Charles Hart, 11 miles north of Villisca, her death resulting from cancer. She had been in failing health for more than a year. Emma Matilda Nelson was born near Concordia, Kansas on July 10, 1873 and was 55 years old at her death. She was married October 27, 1893 to George Anderson, who survives. To this union were born 8 children, all of whom survive. They are Elmo Anderson, Sault Saint Marie, Michigan, Mrs. L. C. Milligan, Villisca, Mrs. Lewis Simmons, Darwin and Floyd Anderson, Royal Center South Dakota, George Anderson, Malvern, Iowa, Leonard Anderson, Pontiach, Michigan, and Mildred Anderson, Tabor, Iowa. Besides her husband and children are the following brothers and sisters; Harry and Albert Nelson, Malvern, Carl Nelson, Tabor, Mrs. Chas. Hart, Mrs. Dan Kuhn, and Mrs. Leonard Strain, Villisca. Mrs. Anderson came to Iowa with her parents during her childhood, settling south of Villisca. Following their marriage she and her husband went to Colorado to reside, returning agin to Villisca after 10 years. From here they moved to Minnesota where they lived several years and for nearly a year their home was at Royal Center, South Dakota. Last spring they and their three youngest children returned to Villisca and have since lived in this vicinity. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Methodist Church. Her body was brought to the A. B. Wolfe Funeral Home to await the funeral service which was held in the Methodist Church, Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Geo. A. Lawton in charge. The singing was by Mrs. F. E. Shane and Mrs. S. M. Jolliffe, and , with Miss Erma Edwards at the organ, and the pall bearers were Leonard Strain, Chas Hart, Dan Kuhn, Harry, Albert, and Carl Nelson, Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery.
