Mrs. Angstrom ws born August 28, 1876, in Galesburg, Ill., and had been a resident of Stratford 48 years. Before that she lived in Texas until 1906, and for two years in Linsburg, Kan. She was married to Louis Peterson in 1900 in El Campo, Tex. He died in January 26, 1916. She was married to Peter Angstrom in 1918 in Webster City, Ia. He died in 1954. Survivors include the daughter, Mrs. Esther Jones of Des Moines; a son, Clarence Peterson; of Mapleton; two grandsons; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ida Buckler of El Campo Tex., and a brother, Frank Costenson of Kewanee, Ill. The body will be taken from the Byers-Walter funeral home in Mapleton to the Hansen funeral home for services. Burial will be in the South Marion cemetery in Stratford. Stratford Courier April 25, 1957 OBITUARY Mrs. P.T. Angstrom Emma Matilda Angstrom, daughter of Charles and Hada Costenson, was born Aug. 23, 1876, at Galesburg, Ill. During her youth she moved to El Campo, Texas, where she resided until 1906. She then went to Lindsborg, Kan., for 2 years, after which time she moved and made her home at Stratford, Iowa. She lived the remainder of her life in Stratford, except for about the last year of which she was in a nursing home at Castana, Iowa. She was married to Lewis Peterson in 1900 at El Campo, Texas. This union was blessed with three children. Lewis preceded her in death Jan. 26, 1916. She married Peter T. Angstrom in 1917 at Webster City, Iowa. He passed away in 1954. Emma was a member of the Methodist church at Stratford. She departed this life Friday, Apr. 19, 1957, in the nursing home at Castana. She had reached the age of 80 years, 7 months and 21 days. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Esther Jones, of Des Moines, one son, Clarence of Mapleton, Iowa; 2 grandsons, 6 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Mrs. Ida Buckler, El Campo, Tex., and one brother, Frank Costenson, Kewanee, Ill. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one daughter, two husbands, her parents, and four brothers. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 o'clock p.m. in the Hanson funeral home, with the Rev. Robert H. Ruppert, pastor of Calvary Methodist church officiating. The remains were interred in the South Marion Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Harold Westrum, Edlon Westrum, Stanley Quick, Fred Samuelson, Clyde Naylor, and Franklin Rose.
