Emma S Farrow, daughter of Ralph and Editha Jane Porter Stone, was born in Windsor, Illinois on September 5th 1869 and passed away at her home at 117 Court Street, Clay Center, Kansas at four minutes of seven o'clock the evening of October 6, 1947, having reached the age of 78 yrs, one month, and one day. She had been in declining health for some time, but became seriously ill the past week. Mrs Farrow Spent her girlhood in her native state and her marriage to Thomas Farrow took place November 20, 1894, at Shelbyville, Illinois. They later came to Kansas and located in Ottawa county. After living on a farm for some time the Farrows moved to Clay Center, where they have resided for many years. Mr. Farrow died May 28, 1945, but Mrs Farrow continued to keep the home. She was faithful in all things, and devoted her life in service to others. While her chief interest was in her home and her family circle, many others knew her never failing kindness and how often she proved herself a good neighbor. In young womanhood Mrs Farrow united with the Methodist church but for the past eleven had been a member of the First Christian church of Clay Center. Her sons and daughters were all with her during her last days giving her loving care and doing all they could to repay her for unselfish devotion to them. Surviving are the daughters: Mrs Stella Angelo, Omaha, Nebraska: Mrs Blanche Allison, Oak Hill, Kans: Mrs Opal Walker, Clay Center, Kans: Mrs Ina Brannan, Long Beach, California: and Miss Mattie Farrow of the home. Two sons, Otto and Darrell Farrow of Clay Center: 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren: one sister Mrs Alice Krajefska, Mattoon, Ill, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held Thursday afternoon, October 9, at two o'clock at the Mert Schwenson Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Barnes of the Christian church officiating Mrs Earl Dudley and Mrs Ellen BerniceGeorge, acompanied by Mrs Larry Barnes Sang " God will Take Care of You", "Rock of ages" and "Beautiful Ilse of Somewhere" Burial was made in Greenwood Cemetery.
