EMMA MEEHAN Mrs. Emma Meehan, of this city, died suddenly Sunday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ira Auker in Alliance, aged 68 years. She had made her home in Lisbon with her daughter, Mrs. Frank Wright, but about a month ago went to Alliance to nurse her daughter through an illness. Mrs. Meehan was born in Damascus, September 1, 1841. About 40 years ago she was united in marriage with James Meehan, and they resided for many years on a farm near the county infirmary. Her husband died several years ago. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Auker of Alliance and Mrs. Frank Wright of Lisbon, and two sons, Jas Meehan of New Garden and William Barger of New Brighton, Pa. She is also survived by three brothers and one sister: Joseph Barger of Guilford; Ross and Ambrose, Lisbon, and Mrs. Sarah Wanee of Hanoverton. The deceased was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church near Dungannon for many years. The body will arrive here at six o'clock this evening and will be taken to the home of Frank Wright on East Chestnut street, where funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. D. W. Knight of the Methodist Episcopal church. Interment will be made at Mt. Zion cemetery, west of town. NOTE: Emma was born in Armagh Twp, Mifflin Co, Pennsylvania. The family did not come to Damascus until about 1855. Her husband died 28 years ago, on Feb. 10, 1881.
