"Enoch Monroe Kellar was born at Steele City, Nebraska, August 18, 1886, and passed away at Valentine, Nebraska, March 8, 1970, at the age of 83. He was the son of John Francis and Matilda Jane Kellar. While, Roy, as he was known locally, was still a youth, the family moved to University Place in Lincoln. He attended schools in Lincoln and was a graduate of Boyle Business School in Omaha. The family moved to Cherry County, east of Crookston, Nebraska, in the early 1900's (1903). Roy Kellar and Beda Turnquist were married May 8, 1915, and made their home on a ranch three miles east of Crookston. Two daughters and three sons were born to them. This was the family home until the death of Mrs. Kellar on April 30, 1969. Roy had been in ill health the past several months. He was member of Minnecaduza Masonic 192, a charter member of Rosebud Chapter No. 63 Royal Arch Masons (serving as High Priest in 1948); a charter member of Shiloh Council No. 30 Royal and Select Masters, a member of Bethel Commandery No. 28 Long Pine, and he was also member of Tangier Temple of the Shrine at Omaha and the Sandhills Shrine Club. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Beda, one brother, one sister, three half-sisters, two half-brothers, one son who died in infancy and a grandson, William Raubach, who was killed in action in Viet Nam in 1968. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Monroe Kellar of Crookston, Calvin Kellar of Sedalia, Colorado, Mrs. Helen Raubach of Valentine and Mrs. Elaine Wagner of Sedalia, Colorado; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held March 11th in United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cecil Green in charge. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery." The name Monroe comes from his 2nd great-grandmother, Catharine Monroe, wife of Michael Kellar, both of Alexandria, Fairfax County, VA. Catharine was a 2nd cousin of President James Monroe. Brother of Venia Merie Kellar and John Major Kellar; husband of Beda E. Turnquist, daughter of Oscar Turnquist and Minnie Carlson Turnquist. Division #A, Lot #43, Sub #07
