Dickinson was born near Waverly, Nebraska, October 20, 1873, and passed away at his home in Lincoln, Nebraska, July 13, 1934. He was the son of John W. and Caroline Dickinson, and grew to manhood on the farm which his father had homesteaded in 1870. Ensign P. Dickinson was born near Waverly, Nebraska, October 20, 1873, and passed away at his home in Lincoln, Nebraska, July 13, 1934. He was the son of John W. and Caroline Dickinson, and grew to manhood on the farm which his father had homesteaded in 1870. On January 16, 1900, he was united in marriage with Orlie Decker and is survived by his wife and one daughter. While a young man he joined the Methodist Episcopal church in Waverly, Nebraska and later his membership was transferred to the Methodist church in Lyons. Mr. Dickinson was an active worker in the church, serving on the offical board and always willing to take his part in work for the asvancement of the church and community. He spent his life in Nebraska with the exception of five years when he resided in Stockton, California. In 1907 Mr. Dickinson took charge of the grain elevator in Lyons and later became a traveling salesman for a coal company. He spent 17 years in Lyons. He was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge and also a 32nd degree Mason. Mr. Dickinson was of a happy disposition and made many friends in his travels. He loved the great out doors and was always interested in birds, flowers and all nature. He is survived by his wife and daughter Mrs. Dorothy Donohoe, and granddaughter, Marolyn, two sisters, Miss Fannie Dickinson abd Mrs. A. L. Emery, and a niece, Doris Curyea. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. O. Martin, pastor of the First M. E. Church, and the remains were laid to rest in Waverly, Nebraska.
