Description	:	Aunt Nell was born and raised on her parents' farm in Castor LA. She met Uncle Bill while he was stationed at Barksdale AFB (Shreveport LA) and they enjoyed 58 years together. They were world travelers, having been to more countries than they could count! She retired after 38 years with United Airlines and they sold their home in Burnsville MN and returned to Uncle Bill's hometown, Jackson MN, to enjoy their retirement years. OBITUARY: Jackson County Pilot, Jackson MN, 14 May 2013 Era Nelwyn Hoffmeyer, of Jackson, passed away May 11, 2013 in Sioux Falls, S.D. There will be no services. Era Nelwyn Plunkett, daughter of Tommie and Etoy (Rowell) Plunkett, was born Feb. 9, 1934 in Bienville, La. She was a 1952 graduate of Bienville High School. During her high school days, she was an excellent basketball player, and a member of a state championship team. After graduation she attended business college in Shreveport for two years. After college she started working for the Aetna Insurance Company. While working there she met William Hoffmeyer who was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier, La. Later they were married in Louisiana. The couple moved to Denver, Colo., where she started working for United Airlines. They later moved to Minnesota where Era continued with United until her retirement. She was a member of the Union State Line Church and a dedicated member of the Red Hat Society of Jackson. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband William, of Jackson, three sisters, Lucy (Garland) West, Jefferson, Texas, Hazel Sullivan and Carol (R.J.) Nelson, both of Kastor (sic, Castor), La., two brothers, J.T. (Margaret) Plunkett, Waskom, Texas, and Ronald (Kelly) Plunkett, Kastor (sic, Castor), La. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Mertha Culbertson and Ima McBroom.
