She was born on September 26, 1917 in Stokes County, NC to the late Arthur Graham George and Mary Ida Tilley George. Era graduated for R.J. Reynolds High School in Winston Salem, NC. She was a member of Brown Mountain Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Secretary for several years. Ms. George is survived by one daughter, JoAnn Bennett and husband, Charles; three grandchildren, Jill Tucker and husband, Bill, Kim Bennett, Eric Bennett and wife, Mandee; four great-grandchildren, Emily Tucker, Justin Bennett, Bryson Bennett and Braydon Bennett. She was predeceased by her parents and husband, Samuel M. George. Graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Brown Mountain Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Eddie Carter officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care Team of Pilot Mountain.
