Woltmann was born in Crawford Co. on April 14, 1895 to Adolph and Emma Schneckloth Woltmann. He was the oldest of eleven children. He attended country schools in the area. Woltmann was born in Crawford Co. on April 14, 1895 to Adolph and Emma Schneckloth Woltmann. He was the oldest of eleven children. He attended country schools in the area. In 1911 he took a business course at the Western Iowa Vocational College in Harlan. He later took a Palmer Method Correspondence Course. Aug. 10, 1922, he married Irene Jens. They farmed in Shelby Co., until 1929 when they moved to a farm in Pottawattamie Co., where they lived until entering the Atlantic Care Center on March 27. He was a Charter Farm Bureau member and also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. He died July 30,1990 at age 95 years, 3 months and 16 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Helen Woltmann and Mamie Hansen and three brothers, Clarence, Herman, and Adolph and one great-grandchild. Survivors include his wife Irene; his son, Raleigh Woltmann (Marilyn) and daughter, Corinne Schus (Albert) all living near Avoca; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ella Schroeder of Atlantic; Clara Ronnfeldt of Hancock; Mabel Rogers and Edna Vandenbroucke both of Avoca and one brother, Harry Woltmann of Lutz, FL.; two sisters-in-law, Edna Woltmann of Avoca and Meta Woltmann of Walnut; one brother-in-law, Harry Hansen of Co. Bluffs; besides, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held Aug. 1, 1990 at the Knutson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dean Sudman, officiating. Casketbearers were Norman Woltmann, Dexter Schroeder, David Woltmann, Russell Ronnfeldt, Harry Hansen Jr. and Herbert Jens. Burial was in the Shelby cemetery.
