Description	:	Services were held Monday, Oct. 14, 2002 for Ernest Goeman who, following recent surgery and complications thereof, died at Avera McKennan Hospice in Sioux Falls early Thursday morning, Oct. 10, 2002. He attained the age of 86 years, two months and 27 days. Ernest John Goeman was born on a farm near Lennox on Jul. 13, 1916, the son of George J. and Grace (Kuper) Goeman. He attained the age of 86 years, two months and 27 days. Ernest John Goeman was born on a farm near Lennox on Jul. 13, 1916, the son of George J. and Grace (Kuper) Goeman. He moved with his family to Wilmot, SD where he attended rural school. The family returned to Lennox in 1933. On Apr. 20, 1941 he was united in marriage to Verda Jean Reiners at First English Lutheran Church in Lennox. Besides farming Ernie was an auto mechanic, farm machinery mechanic and had grave hauling business in various communities including Lennox, Vienna, Crooks and Chancellor. He retired in 1982, due to his health, and continued to work in his shop since that time. They moved to Lennox and later to Flandreau, where they had since lived. He was preceded in death by his father in 1978, his mother in 1980 and his brother, Lester Goeman in 1987. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Verda Jean; his daughter, Sharon Petersen and her husband, Fred, of Flandreau; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives: Harvey and Ruth Goeman and Floyd and Eileen Goeman, all of Sioux Falls; sister-in-law: Norma Sayler and her husband Kenneth, of Lennox.
