Floyd Kenneth Goeman was born on August 15, 1922 at Wilmot, South Dakota, the son of George J. and Grace (Kuper) Goeman. He grew up attending rural school in Wilmot and later Lennox where he moved with his family in 1937. The couple farmed in the... Read More	Floyd Goeman, 90, of Sioux Falls, died Monday, May, 6, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Village, Sioux Falls. Floyd Kenneth Goeman was born on August 15, 1922 at Wilmot, South Dakota, the son of George J. and Grace (Kuper) Goeman. He grew up attending rural school in Wilmot and later Lennox where he moved with his family in 1937. In 1945 he entered the U.S. Army where he served until the conclusion of WWII and his honorable discharge in 1946. On December 29, 1945 he was united in marriage to Iona Jongeling at Neosho, MO. The couple farmed in the Lennox area until moving to their farm east of Lennox in 1954. Iona died on March 9, 1986. On November 2, 1989 he married Eileen (Leahy) Ertmer at Canton, SD. The couple lived in Sioux Falls and wintered in Donna, Texas. Floyd was a member of the Second Reformed Church and a life member of the Sioux Falls V.F.W. He enjoyed travel, golf, pool, dancing, cards and many friendships made along the way. Besides his parents and wife Iona, Floyd was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his three brothers: Ernest, Harvey and Lester Goeman and three step-children. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Eileen, Sioux Falls, children: Mary (Jerry) Martineau, Sioux Falls and Allan (Kay) Goeman, Lennox; four granddaughters: Angela (Jon) Markstrom, Sioux Falls, Andrea Merritt, Sioux Falls, Alicia (James) Steinfurth, Lennox and Renee (Derrick) Fox, Ankeny, IA: eight great-grandchildren; step-children: Cynthia Norten, Georgia, Frank Ertmer, Nevada, Tom Ertmer, Pennsylvania, James Ertmer, Indiana and Marty Ertmer, Illinois as well as several step-grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. The four Goeman brothers are once again singing as a quartet in Heaven. Services will begin 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 10 at Second Reformed Church, Lennox with burial and miliary honors to follow at the Lennox Cemetery.
