His survivors include his widow, Amelia (Schrock) Brenneman, six sons; William Brenneman, Grantsville, Md., Carl Brenneman, Oakland, Md., Alvin Brenneman, Allen Brenneman, Elmer Brenneman all of Accident, Md., Ernest "Junior" Brenneman, Grantsville, Md.; seven daughters, Mrs. Leona Beitzel, Herndon, Va., Mrs. Rhoda Miller, Springs, Pa., Mrs. Olive Puffinburg, Springs, Pa., Mrs. Ruth Headings, West Liberty, Ohio, Miss Miriam Brenneman, at home, Mrs. Arlene Zook, Greenwood, Delaware, Miss Lois Brenneman, Traverse, Michigan; two brothers, Robert Brenneman, Coshocton, Ohio, Daniel Brenneman, Fresno, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Cora Broadwater, Coshocton, Ohio, Mrs. Annie Buckel, Bittinger, Md., Mrs. Emma Glotfelty, Accident, Md. And Mrs. Mary Young, West Lafayette, Ohio. Also surviving are forty-seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. One daughter, Alice, passed away in infancy; one son, Samuel J. was killed in an accident at La Vale, Md., as a result of a run away tractor trailer, October 19, 1955. Bro. Brenneman became a member of the Glade Mennonite Church in his early years, being baptized on October 11, 1908. He remained a faithful and active member with the Glade congregation, which spanned almost 60 years. Though his occupation in life was chiefly farming and the lumber industry employment, his interest in life was broader than earning a livelihood. His friendly disposition was revealed by developing easy and lasting friendship with children, the ready hospitality and warm welcome offered were acknowledged by friends and strangers. Bro and Sister Brenneman were privileged to have a large family. They witnessed their family members enlarge the attendance, support and supply workers for the home congregation as well as other congregations in their respective communities. The Bible was a treasured possession, for it served as the foundation for all of life, giving guiding principles, guiding policies, and discipline. The Lord was good to the Brenneman Family in many ways. The spiritual heritage the children have received cannot easily be by-passed, but will remain as a challenge to follow, goal to achieve, and a destination to arrive, Bro. Brenneman served as Sunday School Superintendent for several years at the Glade Congregation and was a regular attendant at the church services. The family wishes to express a heart felt "Thank You" to all friends neighbors for the sympathies offered, kindness shown for food that was donated, and every act of consideration during this hour of grief, and sudden passing of our husband and father.
