Description	:	Ernst Kölling Jr. was the son of Ernst Heinrich Kölling and Anne Elizabeth Margarethe Hanna Wallger (or Walliger) born at #15 Eidinghausen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Prussia (now Germany). The Köllings immigrated to the United States in 1834, going first to Ohio, then to Iowa. When his family moved from Ohio to Iowa, Ernst remained behind until he was 22 years old. He was a member of the Chesterfield Monthly Meeting in Morgan Co, Ohio. Ernst married Mrs. Eddis Hobson Mills on 18 Dec 1851. Read More	Ernst Kölling Jr. was the son of Ernst Heinrich Kölling and Anne Elizabeth Margarethe Hanna Wallger (or Walliger) born at #15 Eidinghausen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Prussia (now Germany). The Köllings immigrated to the United States in 1834, going first to Ohio, then to Iowa. When his family moved from Ohio to Iowa, Ernst remained behind until he was 22 years old. He was a member of the Chesterfield Monthly Meeting in Morgan Co, Ohio. Ernst married Mrs. Eddis Hobson Mills on 18 Dec 1851. Because this was not a Quaker marriage (although the Hobsons were Quaker), he was disowned by the Salem (Iowa) Monthly Meeting in September 1852. They had no biological children, but raised a boy, George Way (aka George E. Kölling), from infancy as their own after his mother died. Ernst was a farmer and a shoemaker. In the fall of 1863 Ernst was struck by lightning and killed. He was most likely buried in one of the cemeteries in Salem.
