Description	:	Essie B. Byers was born March 19, 1883 at Kennard, Nebr. She came with her parents to Belden, Nebr. at the age of 8 years. At the age of 13 years, she united with the M.E. Church at that place. In 1897, she came to Bazile Mills, Nebr., where her parents resided for years. From there in 1903, she went to the vicinity of Millerboro during the time she was one of Knox county's successful school teachers. She was united in marriage to James N. Miller, June 5, 1907. She came with her parents to Belden, Nebr. at the age of 8 years. At the age of 13 years, she united with the M.E. Church at that place. In 1897, she came to Bazile Mills, Nebr., where her parents resided for years. From there in 1903, she went to the vicinity of Millerboro during the time she was one of Knox county's successful school teachers. She was united in marriage to James N. Miller, June 5, 1907. To this union six children were born, one dying in infancy. In January 1914, they moved to Pormpeys Pillar, Montana, where she resided until her death March 29, 1922 at the age of 39 years and 10 days. Those left to mourn are her husband, James, one son, Vernon, four daughters, Vera, Myrtle, Oceil and Ella May, her mother, Mrs. E.C. Byers of Naper, Nebr., three sisters, Mrs. Charles Richardson of Herrick, S.D., Mrs. Ed Higgens of Naper, Nebr. Mrs. Carrie Thompson of Winnetoon and one brother, G.L. Byers of Naper., other relatives and friends at her old home here and in Montana. Mrs. Miller was a woman of Christian character, quiet and unassuming, yet steadfast and faithful in her adherence to Christian principles, both in faith and practice, making every act of her life to conform to the standard of righteousness. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and though she has passed away from he loved ones, the fragrance of her beautiful Christian life will ever linger, a pleasant memory and guide along the pathway of life. The remains arrived from Montana, Monday afternoon and were taken to the home of her sister, Carrie Thompson. Funeral services were held in the M.E. Church in Winnetoon, Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 conducted by Rev. Z.M. Bresler, pastor. Interment was made in the Millerboro Cemetery by the side of her little daughter. The pallbearers were all younger men from her old home in Millerboro. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing family in their hours of bereavement. ...The Creighton News 6 April 1922
