Esther was born on September 10, 1927 on the family farm south of Anamoose, ND. She was the daughter of Emilia (Schaefer) and Fred Ammon, Jr. She attended country school and helped with the chores around the house and on the farm. Esther married Ervin Ziegler on March 30, 1947 in Anamoose. They lived and farmed in Sheridan County. They purchased and moved to another farm north of Pickardville, ND in 1959. Ervin died on August 29, 1992. She continued living on the farm until moving to the Missouri Slope Nursing Home in Bismarck in 2013. Esther was a member of the United Methodist Church and her hobbies included quilting, gardening and she loved listening to country music. Esther is survived by three sons, Duane (Darlene) Ziegler of Bismarck, Dale (Jean) Ziegler of Bismarck and Don Ziegler of Sheridan, WY; two daughters, Diane Wolberg of Bismarck and Donna (Dennis) Kroll of Washburn; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Ernest Ammon; sister, Freda Rau.
