She was born on November 5, 1921, in Springdale, Ohio to the late Howard and Margaret (Meyers) Yordy. A life long resident of Hamilton, Esther married Lawrence Schlabach on February 19, 1941. Those who knew Esther will always remember her love for her family, her... Read More	Esther E. Schlabach, age 88, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Westover Retirement Community. She was born on November 5, 1921, in Springdale, Ohio to the late Howard and Margaret (Meyers) Yordy. A life long resident of Hamilton, Esther married Lawrence Schlabach on February 19, 1941. They had two children and spent most of their married life living on Charlberth Drive. Six years ago, they moved to Tribe Court where they lived next door to two of their grandchildren and four of their great grandchildren. Those who knew Esther will always remember her love for her family, her home cooked meals and how she kept her home full of love. Family and friends of Esther knew that a garden of love was always growing in her heart. Esther was preceded in death by her father, Howard Yordy, her mother, Margaret Yordy, and her baby brother, John Yordy. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, her husband of 68 years, Lawrence Schlabach of Hamilton; her daughter Patricia Saylor and her husband Michael Saylor, and her son Dennis Schlabach and his wife Julisa Schlabach, both of Hamilton; her grandson Chris Saylor and his wife Cassandra Saylor of Hamilton, her granddaughter Heather Davidson and her husband William Davidson, her granddaughter Jamie Taylor and her husband Greg Taylor of S. Lebanon, her grandson Jeff Schlabach and her granddaughter Maria Schlabach, both of Hamilton; her great grandchildren, Michael, Isabella, William, Samuel, Bryce and Brody; her sister, Margarette Kalivoda of Hamilton; and a multitude of other family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 11:30 am at Esther's home church, McGonigle-Millville United Methodist Church, 2370 Lanes Mill Rd., Hamilton, Ohio 45013, with Reverend Ed Beck officiating. A fellowship gathering will be hosted by the ladies of the church immediately following the memorial service. Interment will follow at 1:30 pm at Millville Cemetery, 2289 Millville Ave., Hamilton, OH 45013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the church in Esther's memory.
