Esther Henrietta Folkerts died at her residence in Monticello Dec. 6, following an extended illness. She was born in Monticello Nov. 12, 1912, the daughter of John E. Katherine Tobiason Folkerts. She received her early education in the rural schools of Jones County. Esther was baptized Dec. 22, 1912, and confirmed on March 28, 1926, in the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. She held her membership in the church her entire life. Esther had made her home on the family farm until 1936 when she and her sister Iola moved to their present address in Monticello. She is survived by her sister Iola Folkerts; an uncle, Hayo Tobiason of Monticello and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Elmer and Lloyd. Casket bearers were Richard Moore, Elmer Drexler, Eugene Hall, John Coyle, Bennie Tobiason and John Andreesen.
