Description	:	Esther Hofer, age 84, of Huron, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her memorial service was Saturday, April 20th at Mt. Olivet Church with Rev. Her memorial service was Saturday, April 20th at Mt. Olivet Church with Rev. David Erdman, officiating. Burial was at Emmanuel Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Doland. Esther Irene Hofer was born August 6, 1928, to Martin and Maria (Hofer) Waldner of Carpenter, SD. She attended grade school in Carpenter, then graduated from Willow Lake High School. Esther attended summer school at General Beadle in Madison, SD and taught school for one year. Esther was a member of the Hutterthal Mennonite Church of Carpenter. On September 26, 1948, she married Elgin J Hofer at the Methodist Church in Doland. After marrying Elgin, she became a member of the Emmanuel Mennonite Church of Doland. She accepted Christ as her Savior at revival meetings at Emmanuel Church. She taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. Elgin & Esther served on the state board of Child Evangelism Fellowship for several years. Esther & Elgin farmed near Doland. They also did custom harvesting starting in southern Oklahoma and working their way north. Esther cooked many meals for the hired help. They moved to Huron in 2008. Esther kept busy doing word puzzles, taking care of grandchildren, and loved watching her great grandchildren. She made every grandchild feel like her favorite. Esther loved listening to Christian music. Esther is survived by her husband, Elgin Hofer of Huron; one son, Norland (Sue) Hofer of Huron; two daughters, Roxy (Dave) Heinrichs of Raymond and Deneise (Rodney) Wipf of Frankfort; seven grandchildren, Lorna Hofer of Watertown, Jennifer (Robert) Ries of Huron, Sherry (Dave) Dalke of Watertown, Jr. (Richelle) Hofer of Garretson, Jeff (Lu) Heinrichs of Cologne, Minnesota, Tyler (Heather) Wipf of Mitchell and Trent Wipf of Huron; 13 great grandchildren, Brae Ries, Mason Hofer, Ben Dalke, Max Ries, Dazee Ries, Breanna Heinrichs, Easton Ries, Andrew Dalke, Jocelyn Heinrichs, Jenna Dalke, Zachary Hofer, Caiden Heinrichs and Olivia Wipf; and two sisters, Adena Tschetter and Lydia Hofer both of Huron. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rudy Brockmueller provided links to parents 4-20-2016
