Description	:	Big Timber Pioneer September 5, 1997 Esther V. Osen of Big Timber passed away September 1, 1997, in Deaconess Hospital in Billings. She was born on March 31, 1923, in Sweden. She came to Montana with her parents, Otto and Elna Anderson, when she was five. She attended school in Two Dot and Harlowton. Esther worked on the McFarland-White Ranch near Two Dot where she met Gordon Osen. They were married on January 1, 1944. Osen of Big Timber passed away September 1, 1997, in Deaconess Hospital in Billings. She was born on March 31, 1923, in Sweden. She came to Montana with her parents, Otto and Elna Anderson, when she was five. She attended school in Two Dot and Harlowton. Esther worked on the McFarland-White Ranch near Two Dot where she met Gordon Osen. They were married on January 1, 1944. They worked for the Sieben Livestock Co. in Cascade and moved back to the ranch in Big Timber in 1960. They retired from ranching in 1980. She is survived by her daughter, Karen and son-in-law, Robert Pelatt of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters, Elsie (Mrs. Emmet) Teig of Martinsdale, Erma (Mrs. Ray) Alkire of Billings, Edie (Mrs. Don) Delmonica of Billings and Edna (Mrs. Ray) McKinney of Los Angeles, California. She also leaves behind her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Albert and Barbara Osen of Big Timber and Tom and Helen Osen of Livingston; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; her parents; and a sister, Agnes. Esther enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards, and visiting with her friends and family. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 4 at the Lowry Funeral Home, followed by burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
