Description	:	Etha L. Martin was born in Wisconsin, on August 8, 1853, and died March 17, 1928, at Ucross, Wyoming, where she made her home with her son, Rolland. The family left Wisconsin in her eleventh year and homesteaded in Nebraska, near Fillmore Mills, the family being among the pioneers of Nebraska. She was married at York in 1877, to Joseph E. Martin was born in Wisconsin, on August 8, 1853, and died March 17, 1928, at Ucross, Wyoming, where she made her home with her son, Rolland. The family left Wisconsin in her eleventh year and homesteaded in Nebraska, near Fillmore Mills, the family being among the pioneers of Nebraska. She was married at York in 1877, to Joseph E. Dean, to which union eleven children were born, six of whom are living: Clarence W. of Santa Monica, Calif.; Mrs. W.T. Shipton of Chelan, Washington; Charles H. of Torrington, Wyo.; Rolland E. of Ucross, Wyo.; Lucretia A. Landkamer of Manson, Washington; and William R. of Torrington, Wyo. Besides these, she leaves to mourn her absence, two brothers, M.E. Martin of Fairmont and E.C. Martin of Washington; eleven grandchildren and numerous other relatives. The family came to Fairmont in 1909, where she made her father happy until his death in 1914. In 1923, she left Fairmont to make her home with her sons, Charles and William, and shortly after that she went to make her home with her son, Rolland, where she remained until her death. Her relationship to the church was one of utmost sincerity, her interest being very whole-hearted. Her community spirit was one of openhearted hospitality, no service to her neighbor being a task. Her life can best be expressed in the words of the Apostle Paul, when he said, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course. I have kept the faith; henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge shall give me at that day." Funeral services were held in the Fairmont Federated church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W.F. Perry, D.D., on Tuesday afternoon, March 20th, and her body laid to rest in the Fairmont cemetery. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Hattie Conway and Miss Pearl, and Mr. and Mrs. Tilden of York; E.L. Martin and wife of Lincoln, C.H. and W.R. Dean of Torrington, Wyoming; Mrs. L.L. Landkamer of Manson, Washington, and R.E. Dean of Ucross, Wyoming.
