Description	:	Etha Selke 1912 – 2003 Etha Selke, 91, Huron, died Wednesday evening, March 26, 2003, at the Huron Nursing Homes. Funeral services were held at 2 /.m. March 31 at the First Presbyterian Church in Miller, with the Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Burial was at the St. Lawrence Cemetery, St. Lawrence. Pallbearers were Clyde Fanning, Wallace Baker, David Lanz, Merlyn Parmely, David Erfamn and Fred Fanning. Etha M. Skinner was born February 23, 1912, the seventh child of Milar and Emaline (Oakley) Skinner, in Pearl Township, south of St. Lawrence. She graduated from St. Lawrence High School in 1930, and from Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen in 1931. She then taught in Hand County schools until her marriage to Clarence Selke on June 15, 1933, at Huron. The couple farmed for 40 years in Pearl and St. Lawrence Townships in Hand County. In October 1984, they moved to Huron, where she was a member of the Huron Area Senior Center. She is survived by one daughter, Connie Selke Cowing of Huron; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on August 17, 1994; and infant daughter, Marilyn Kay Selke; four brothers, Ray, Glen, Harold and Floyd Skinner; two sisters, Opal Friemark and Marie Uptgraff; and one son-in-law, Harry Cowing, Jr., on August 10, 1996.
