Adella died at 5:07 a.m. Jan. 12, 1999, at Ridgewood Care Center. She was born March 8, 1905, in Ottumwa to William and Lavina May Jones Kelley. She married William W. Johnstone on Sept. 26, 1923. He died on Sept. 23, 1971. She lived in Ottumwa all her life. She had been employed at Halls Candy Factory. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Loyalty Circle and Kings Daughters. She is survived by a son, Bill Johnstone of Ottumwa; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Everett Kelley. The service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, the Rev. Derrick Haskins of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Bill, Todd, Kevin, Daniel, Christopher and Jenny Johnstone. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Mirgon, Greg Corzette, Danny McKee and Greg Meyer. Memorials may be made to the family.
