The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, Jun 24, 1927 - pg 8 Ethel Mae Jolley was born May 13, 1907 and died June 12, 1927 at the York hospital York, Nebraska, after an illness of two weeks of pneumonia at the age of 20 years and 29 days. When the news was given out Monday that Ethel tad (sic) passed away Sunday evening, our community realized it had lost a good friend and neighbor. She lived at Matoon, Coles county (sic) Illinois, for 3 mo. at which time she moved to Grafton, Fillmore county (sic), Nebraska, with her parents where she lived for six years. She moved back to Arcola, Douglas county (sic), Illinois where she lived for 2 years. She then moved back to Nebraska, where she resided until the time of her death. A halo of glory encircled the brow of the mother who has shown such noble traits of character in her ceaseless efforts of a true mother part to restore her daughter to health. Her cherry face and pleasant smiles always ready to greet you will be missed sadly. She leaves to mourn her loss, her father and mother three brothers and two sisters, Chester Jolley of Hinsboro, Illinois, Robert and Scott of Davenport, Mrs Grace Klernschnidt of Grafton, Nebraska and Edna Eugenia, who lives with her parents. Also a number of relatives and a host of friends. The choir sang, "Abide with Thee" "When I Get to the End of the Trail" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus'. Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church by Rev Caldwell, pastor, Wednesday, June 15. Undertaker Scott had charge of the arrangements. Burial in Sutton cemetery.
