Description	:	Obituary Ethel May Meredith, eldest daughter of John M. Meredith, Lulu Meredith, was born on a farm near Hiawatha, Kans., lived in the same vicinity until she married Harry G. Fuhrken January 30, 1918, when they moved to Hiawatha. They moved to Topeka in 1923. Daughter, Helen Lucile Fuhrken was born to this union Nov. 15, 1924. Funeral service was held June 24, 1943, at Sanders & McMichael mortuary in Topeka at 10:30 a.m., conducted by her pastor, Rev. Ebright of Lowman memorial Methodist church, assisted by Rev. J. W. Campbell of Junction City. Hugh A. Smith, cousin of the deceased sang "In the Garden, " with Mrs. Harriet Anderson accmpanist. Officers of Beulah chapter of OES gave ritual memorial service. Body was then brot to Hiawatha, where funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. at Meeks mortuary, conducted by Rev. J.W. Bolton of Waterville, Kans., assisted by Rev. W.I. Hastie of Hiawatha. Mr. Mrs. Leroy Neff sang "Rock of Ages," "Safe In Arms of Jesus," with Mrs. Ola Neff accompanist. She was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, pal to her daughter. Her life was passed in sacrifice for others. For past year when her health was failing she never shirked her duties of home or friends. She has written a letter to her mother every day of all years she has lived in Topeka. She had a sunny disposition, pleasing personality, will be greatly missed. Her father, a sister, a brother preceded her in death. She was laid to rest on Meredith family lot in Hiawatha cemetery. "Our hearts are broken with grief today, because you left us, went away, yet we know you are happy, free from care, sometime we, too, will meet you there."
