Read More	Critical Illness Causes Sudden Death of Miss Ethel Nihart Friends of the Albin Nihart family were shocked to learn of the sudden death of Miss Ethel Nihart, which occurred in an Omaha hospital Monday morning at 3:00, where she had gone only three days earlier for treatment. The report of her death left great sorrow in the hearts of the many friends of the family in this community where she had lived her lifetime. Almost two years ago she resorted to a surgical operation for removal of goiter and had quite fully recovered, until several months ago when a throat affliction came upon her and for which she had been endeavoring to obtain relief to remedy the cause and for the last several weeks was taking treatment in Norfolk, having spent New Year's with her parents here and thereafter going to an Omaha hospital for further treatment, where death came suddenly upon her. She had written to her parents only last Sunday and seemed expectant of better health and announcement of her sudden death was a severe shock, particularly to her parents. Ethel Nihart was born on a farm four and one half miles southeast of Creighton on September 5, 1893 and died on January 7, 1929 at the age of 35 years, 4 months and 2 days. At the age of 7 years, she moved with her parents to Creighton, where she had continuously resided. Miss Nihart was a member of the Creighton public school graduating class several years ago and thereafter taught in the rural schools of the county for two years, later taking the position of saleslady in the Philbrick store, remaining in this employment for fourteen years and again later was employed in the Jos. P. Ryan store, where she continued until the beginning of her fatal illness. Miss Nihart was an active member of the Methodist church and devoted in the zealousness of religious purpose. She was loved for her appreciative kindness and her ambition to succeed, her tenacity of purpose being to contribute of the welfare of her parents and by her habitual courtesy and obliging manner she persistently won friends and maintained their constant friendship. Surviving the deceased are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albin Nihart of Creighton and many more distant relatives, to all of whom as well as friends come the pangs of grief on this occasion of sadness. Funeral services will be held from the home at 1:30 p.m. today (Thursday) and from the M.E. church at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Benj. Kuhler. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery.
