Description	:	Julia Etta, one of four children born to Maggie and John Moon, first saw the light of day at La Porte, Ind., June 10, 1868. When two years of age she moved with her parents in a covered wagon to the state of Michigan. Read More	Julia Etta, one of four children born to Maggie and John Moon, first saw the light of day at La Porte, Ind., June 10, 1868. When two years of age she moved with her parents in a covered wagon to the state of Michigan. In the spring of 1880, the family came to Iowa and the vicinity of Lamoni has been home to her these last 62 years. On June 9, 1907, she was united in marriage to Martin D. McKim. To this union one son, Wilfred Ross was born. After gladdening the home for four months, he was called into the eternal land, on September 17, 1909. Mrs. McKim was also preceded Into the great beyond by her devoted husband who departed this life, October 10, 1919. In the spring of 1926, Mrs. McKim moved from her farm home to her residence in Lamoni. She was a kind, loving, and devoted wife, sister, and homemaker. A friend and neighbor of whom it was a privilege to know. Several years ago she united with the Methodist Church and the Christian faith was ever the source of joy and hope to her. Though the shadows of life's evening had begun to gather around her she continued active, taking definite interest in the services of the church and acting as president of the Ladies Aid for a number of years. Then without warning, she was stricken on December 19, 1940, and after a few days she began to improve and it was believed she was well on the road to complete recovery when on the morning Of March 11, 1941, she was called away, after all was done for her recovery that loving hands and medical skill could do. She had reached the age of 72 years, 9 months, and one day. She leaves to mourn her departure, one brother C.W. Moon, of Lamoni, a number of nieces and nephews, besides those many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon, March 14, at the Methodist church by Rev. Z. M. Bressler. A mixed quartet composed of Mrs. Gretchen Sandage, Mrs. Lois Banker, Roy Derry, and Dale Ballantyne with Mrs. Arthur Lane at the piano, brought the following songs "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "No Night There," and "Abide With Me." The pallbearers were Walter Moon, Willard Moon, Orrin Moon, Milton Moon, Dale Moon, and Clay Ballantyne. Interment was made In the Lamoni cemetery.
