Interment was held in Lennox Cemetery. Eugene A. "Gene" Friese was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on 25 JUL 1944, the son of Peter W. and Vera (Herlyn) Friese. He grew up on a farm north of Lennox where he attended Berens District #58 Rural School. He graduated from Lennox High School in 1962 and then attended Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. He was married to Linda Schoffelman on 03 APR 1964. He was preceded in death by his father on 16 DEC 1993 and his mother on 22 DEC 1998. Having been diagnosed with cancer, Gene died suddenly, hours after being admitted to Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, on Saturday morning, 20 DEC 2003. He attained the age of 59 years, four months and 25 days. Survivors include his wife, Pat, of Tea; one son, Darin Friese and his wife, Stephanie, of Sioux Falls; one daughter, Janelle Bogenrief and her husband, Brad, of Madison, Wisconsin; five grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Linda Radi and Sandra Webb, both in California; four step-grandchildren; one brother, Wade Friese and his wife, Dianne, of Sioux Falls; one sister, Joyce Williamson and her husband, Darryl, of Lennox; his niece, nephews and many other relatives.
