Description	:	Eugene B. SUMMERS, Age 89, of College Corner, OH died early Tuesday morning, January 16, 2007 at The Knolls of Oxford following a brief illness. He was born on April 4, 1917 to Walter and Ollie Bennett Summers. He graduated from College Corner Union High School in 1935. Prior to military service he was employed by International Harvester Co. in Cincinnati. Following his return from WWII, he... Read More	Eugene B. SUMMERS, Age 89, of College Corner, OH died early Tuesday morning, January 16, 2007 at The Knolls of Oxford following a brief illness. He was born on April 4, 1917 to Walter and Ollie Bennett Summers. He graduated from College Corner Union High School in 1935. Prior to military service he was employed by International Harvester Co. in Cincinnati. In 1941 he entered the 1020th Army Air Force Base Unit as a Crew Chief in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, remaining a member of the 14th Air Force Association until his death. Following his return from WWII, he engaged in farming and was employed by College Corner Implement Co., then to Kaiser Aluminum& Chemical Corporation until retirement. Eugene was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of College Corner and for several years, a volunteer for the College Corner Fire Department. He loved being outdoors taking care of the yard and could be found on his lawn mower nearly anytime during the summer months. Special to him were woodcutting trips with his buddies, tinkering in the shop and sitting around the wood stove chatting with friends and neighbors. Survivors include his wife, Lois, whom he married on December 11, 1941; son, Joel and his wife, Anna, of West College Corner, IN; three grandchildren, Leah Summers Connell and husband Randy of Lexington, KY, Nathan Summers and wife Chelsea of Oak Grove, KY, Austin Summers and fiancée Shannon Wright of Columbus, OH; two great grand children, Kaylee and Alyssa. He was preceded in death by his parents and only sister, Carol Gulley. A celebration of Gene's life will be conducted at the First United Presbyterian Church in College Corner on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. with Reverend Jason Bantz officiating.
