Description	:	Eugene Muller Taken by Death Eugene Muller passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ottie Halverson, north of Winnetoon, Saturday at 4:05 a.m. following an illness of three weeks. He had been in poor health the past two years. His death was caused by a heart ailment. Eugene Muller was born in Luxemberg, Germany on January 27, 1860 and at death, August 12, 1939 was 79 years, 6 months and 16 days old. Eugene Muller was born in Luxemberg, Germany on January 27, 1860 and at death, August 12, 1939 was 79 years, 6 months and 16 days old. When he was 22 years of age he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Steich on December 26, 1882. To this union were born eight children. His wife and one daughter preceded him in death. He had 23 grandchildren, two of whom preceded him in death. In 1888 he came to America and established a home at Elkhorn, Neb. His wife and three children joined him a year later. After residing at Elkhorn for three years, they moved to Wayne county, where they lived ten years. In the year 1901 they came to Knox county and settled on a farm north of Winnetoon. Later they lived in Boyd county seven years, but afterward returned to Knox county. He leaves to mourn his passing three daughters, Mrs. Eugina Bessert, Baker, Mont., Mrs. Hannah Halverson, Winnetoon and Mrs. Margaret Higgins, Niobrara; four sons, Eugene Jr.. Nicholas and James, all of Winnetoon and Henry of Creighton and 21 grandchildren. Last rites were held at St. Ludger's Catholic church with Rev. Windolph conducting the services. Burial was made in the St. Ludger's cemetery. Pallbearers were three sons and three sons-in-law, Nicholas, James and Henry Muller and Julius Bessert, Ben Higgins and Ottie Halverson. ...The Creighton News 17 Aug 1939
