Description	:	Mrs. Eugene Muller Sr. passed away at her home, Tuesday morning at 5:30 following a months illness. Her death was attributed to cerosis of the liver. Mary Steich was born at Cone, France on October 9, 1856. She died at Creighton, Nebraska, September 1, 1931 at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 22 days. Read More	Mrs. Eugene Muller Sr. passed away at her home, Tuesday morning at 5:30 following a months illness. Her death was attributed to cerosis of the liver. Mary Steich was born at Cone, France on October 9, 1856. She died at Creighton, Nebraska, September 1, 1931 at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 22 days. She came with her parents to Luxenburg, Germany three years after her birth. On December 26, 1882, she was united in marriage to Eugene Muller. This union was blessed with seven children, three being born in Germany, four in the United States. In the year of 1888, her husband came to America, establishing a home at Elkhorn, Nebraska. Mrs. Muller and the three children join him a year later. After residing three years at Elkhorn, they moved to Wayne, County, Nebraska, where they lived ten years. In 1902 they came to Knox County, Nebraska, moving on a farm north of Winnetoon. Then, they spent seven years in Boyd County, near Lynch, Nebraska before returning to Knox county. About a year and one half ago, they retired from the farm, moving into Creighton, her home until the time of her death. Mrs. Muller is classed as one of the old settlers of Knox County. She endured a great many hardships of the pioneer days. She was a devoted mother, cherishing most her home and family. Her passing will be mourned by a great number of her friends. She leaves to mourn, her husband, three daughters, Eugenia (Joe) Allen, Baker , Montana; Hannah (Ottie) Halverson, Winnetoon; and Maggie (Benjamin) Higgens, Niobrara; four sons, Eugene Jr, Nicholas, James and Henry, all residing within this community; two brothers, one in New York city and one in London, England. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 9 a.m. from St. Ludger Catholic Church with Father William Windolph conducting the services. ...Handwritten by a family member for the Winnetoon Historical Society
