On-line condolences may be sent to www.mem.com. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements. Mr. Koon passed away on Sunday morning, March 21, 2010. He was born in the Horrell Hill Community, Hopkins, SC to the late John Koon and Carrie Martin Koon. Mr. Koon retired from the Transportation Department at Lower Richland High School. He was also a lifelong member of Beulah Baptist Church in which he served on several committees. Mr. Koon was a WWII veteran of the United States Army. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Rachel Hogan Koon; a daughter, Patricia Koon (Mack) Allen; 3 sons, Eugene W. "Buddy" (Sherry Bonner) Koon, Jr., Bo Koon and Charles W. Koon; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives & friends whom will miss him dearly.
