Description	:	YREKA-- Eugene W. Bray, 62, passed away yesterday, Nov. 29. He had heart surgery last March and his passing was sudden and unexpected. He was born May 24, 1922 in Yreka, the son of Walter and Lola Bray, and was raised in Hornbrook. On June 1, 1946 in St. Joseph's Church in Yreka he married Miss Patricia Riffel and the couple has made their home in Yreka and Montague since that time. Bray, 62, passed away yesterday, Nov. 29. He had heart surgery last March and his passing was sudden and unexpected. He was born May 24, 1922 in Yreka, the son of Walter and Lola Bray, and was raised in Hornbrook. On June 1, 1946 in St. Joseph's Church in Yreka he married Miss Patricia Riffel and the couple has made their home in Yreka and Montague since that time. He had been an automobile salesman and insurance man, was manager of the Federal Land Bank for some 19 years and prior to his retirement has been a senior appraisor for the Siskiyou County Assessors Office for 10 years. He was a member and past president of the Montague Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary. He also belonged to the Caper Cutters Dance Club and the Weed golf club. He was active in past years in youth baseball and was one of the founders of the Nor-Sis Little League. He served as master of ceremonies for the Montague Variety Show for many years. Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Montague; daughters Mrs. Ellen Naumes of Medford and Polly Bray of Portland; sons Gene Bray of Puyallup, Wash., James Bray and Jeffrey Bray both of Montague, and Philip Bray of Yreka. He also leaves sisters Grace Cummins of Hornbrook, Verna Tyrer and Edith Balfrey, both of Yreka, brothers Walter Bray of Montague and George Bray and Gordon Bray, both of Yreka. He also leaves 12 grandchildren. Two sisters, Jennie Clawson and Rose Kraft have predeceased him. Fr. Keiran McMahon will offer the Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church Saturday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Bray family plot of the Henley-Hornbrook Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in Girdner's Funeral Chapel this evening at 7 o'clock. Memorial contributions to United Scholarships, P.O. Box 1328, Yreka or to one's favorite charity are suggested.
