Description	:	George Bray YREKA--George K. Bray, 74, life-long Siskiyou County resident, died at his home in Yreka on Friday morning, Nov. 27, 1992. He was born in Yreka on Aug. 6, 1918, one of eleven children born to Walter and Lola Bray of Hornbrook. He received his elementary education at Hornbrook, and attended Yreka High School. Following his graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he remained for four years. Shortly after his discharge, World War II began, and he re-enlisted in the Navy, serving in the South Pacific. Bray, 74, life-long Siskiyou County resident, died at his home in Yreka on Friday morning, Nov. 27, 1992. He was born in Yreka on Aug. 6, 1918, one of eleven children born to Walter and Lola Bray of Hornbrook. He received his elementary education at Hornbrook, and attended Yreka High School. Following his graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he remained for four years. Shortly after his discharge, World War II began, and he re-enlisted in the Navy, serving in the South Pacific. While in the Navy,he met Oweta Little from Lubbock, Texas, and they were married in Long Beach on July 31, 1943. When the war ended they came to Yreka where Mr. Bray was employed By Jim Tyler at the Yreka Lumber company. He later operated Bray's Appliance for a number of years until he became a car salesman with the Maginnis Chevrolet Company, remaining on with Ellis Brooks Motors until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Oweta of Yreka; three children, Sharon Renner of San Francisco, Darilyn Ehlen of San Diego, and Craig Bray, of Pullman, Wash.; six grandchildren, Elinor and Claire Collins, Jason and Ryan Ehlen, and Joshua and Trent Bray. He also leaves two sisters and one brother, Verna Tyrer, Edith Balfrey and Gordon Bray, all of Yreka. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. in Girdner Funeral Chapel. Rev. David Samelson of the Yreka Methodist Church will officate. obituary published in the Siskiyou Daily News on Mon., Nov. 30, 1992
