Description	:	CENTRAL CITY - Eunice I. Ceder, 90, of Central City died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Central City, with Sister Mary Arie officiating. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery. Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Ceder was born Aug. 27, 1922, in Platte County to Anton and Alma (Larson) Peterson. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Howard of Central City; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Joan Ceder of Central City, Larry and Nancy Ceder of Smith Center, Kan., and Vernon and Becky Ceder of Mundelein, Ill.; one brother, Bill Peterson of Grand Island; and her twin sister, Eula Pearson of Columbus. Also left to cherish her memory are five grandchildren, Anthony Ceder, Faith Oberg, Melodie Carlen, Lori Klooz and Aaron Ceder; and 15 great-grandchildren. She grew up in Platte County and attended rural Platte County School until the 10th grade and then graduated in 1940 from Genoa High School. On July 29, 1940, Eunice and Howard Ceder were united in marriage in Fullerton. They lived in California for two years and then returned in 1942 to live in Central City. In 1962, they opened Ceder's Home Improvement and owned and operated it with their sons until their retirement in 1982. From 1984 through 2004, Eunice and Howard enjoyed spending their winters in Texas. Eunice was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church in Central City, the American Legion Auxiliary, and in Texas she belonged to the Quilter's Guild and the Salvation Army Auxiliary. Eunice loved to crochet, embroider and quilt. Preceding Eunice in death were her parents; grandson, Thomas Lee Ceder; brother, Jim Peterson; and sister, Phyllis Schlesinger.
