Description	:	WELL KNOWN LADY DIED ON SUNDAY One of the community's most highly regarded matrons, Mrs. Eva Blanche Peyton, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hilton Dize, on Laird Avenue, Sunday evening, following a prolonged illness. She was 74 years of age. Born in Crisfield in 1879, she was the daughter of the late B. Frank and Nancy Cullen Lawson, and the widow of the late Orrie Francis Peyton of this city. Read More	WELL KNOWN LADY DIED ON SUNDAY One of the community's most highly regarded matrons, Mrs. Eva Blanche Peyton, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hilton Dize, on Laird Avenue, Sunday evening, following a prolonged illness. She was 74 years of age. Born in Crisfield in 1879, she was the daughter of the late B. Frank and Nancy Cullen Lawson, and the widow of the late Orrie Francis Peyton of this city. Mrs. Peyton had lived in the community all her life. A very sweet and loveable person, Mrs. Peyton had devoted her mature life to her husband and family, but finding time for social and church and community activities as well, while her health permitted. She was held in deep esteem and affection as a neighbor and friend, had helped many in times of distress and affliction, and her serene and understanding nature endeared her to all who knew her. Funeral services were conducted in the Covington Funeral Home on Main street Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. Robert E. Green, pastor of Asbury Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the family lot in Asbury Cemetery. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Robert L. Davis and Mrs. Hilton Dize, of Crisfield, and Mrs. Robert Matthews of Baltimore, one son, Sidney F. Peyton of Crisfield, and a half-sister, Mrs. Herman Stammers of Orlando, Fla., and eight grandchildren. The Crisfield Times, April 17, 1953 pg.10
