Description	:	EVA MOSHER BARTON, daughter of Alonzo and Martha Ratliff Mosher, was born March 26, 1876 and died May 29, 1971. She was the last surviving member of a family of ten children. She has been a lifetime resident of the Salem area, except for a few years she spent in Kansas. For the past three years she has made her home with the Harold Long family. She married Arthur G. Read More	EVA MOSHER BARTON, daughter of Alonzo and Martha Ratliff Mosher, was born March 26, 1876 and died May 29, 1971. She was the last surviving member of a family of ten children. She has been a lifetime resident of the Salem area, except for a few years she spent in Kansas. For the past three years she has made her home with the Harold Long family. She married Arthur G. Barton on Aug 30,1928. Survivors include two step-daughters, Mrs. John (Marie) Cox of Paton and Mrs. Rex (Coral) Johnson of St. Charles and many nieces and nephews. Those in the Salem area are Kenneth, LaMoyne and Frances Mosher, Mrs. Wilbur (Anna) Watts, Walter Barton, a cousin, Paul Ratliff of Mt. Pleasant. She was a birthright member of the Society of Friends, later becoming a member of the Salem Congregational Church. For a number of years she was employed in the Morrow's Store and later by the Service Oil Works. Services were held at the Salem Congregational Church on Tuesday June 1, 1971 at 2 p.m. with the pastor Edmund Neubauer officiating. Soloist was Mrs. Delmar Barton, accompanied by Mrs. Gordon Watts, organist. Casket bearers were Kenneth Burkey, Hugh Breuer, Glen Chatham, Myles Rook, Charles Shau and Francis Trueblood. Interment was in the Salem South Cemetery with arrangements by Beatty-Jennings Chapels. Out of town relatives and friends attending the service were Mr. & Mrs. Marion Evans, Tiffen and Paul Wiley of Crawfordsville; M & Mrs. E.S. Berkland, Lori & Curtis; Mrs. Carlyle Merritt and Eric of Sioux City; Mr. & Mrs. Norval Mosher, Dynette & Jim, Liscomb, Mrs. Earl Brain, Hedrick, H. Bruce Watts of Ottumwa, Mr. & Mrs. Scott Watts of Washington; Mrs. E.J. Becker, Mr. & Mrs. Vernon Parks of Mt. Pleasant, Neil Watts of Burlington, IA.
