Read More	OBITUARY, ELIZABETH MOSHER FORSYTH, daughter of Alonzo and Martha Ratliff Mosher was born Sept 15, 1865 southeast of Salem, IA in the Valley neighborhood. In this home she grew to womanhood. She was a member of the Friends church and later in life united with the Methodist church. She died at her home in Beatrice. Neb. July 17, 1934 after a lingering illness of eighteen months. She was united in marriage to Fred Forsyth of Lynnville, IA. March 21, 1889. To this union were born four children. The early years of their married life were spent on a farm in Jasper County, IA. In 1906 they moved to a farm southwest of Beatrice. The last thirteen years they have made their home in Beatrice. Mrs. Forsyth had been in declining health for the last few years, being confined to her bed for 16 months and 2 days. She was a kind and loving mother who will be sadly missed by her family as well as her many friends. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, also one daughter, Mable, who has given her mother every devoted and loving care, two sons, Carl of Wymore, Neb., Lyle of Beatrice, Neb. and six grandchildren. The eldest son Ralph, a World War veteran, died ten years ago. Three brothers, Amos of Del Norte, CO, E.R. of Saugache CO and J.J. of Salem, IA, five sisters, Mrs. Maria Watts of Yates Center, Kansas, Mrs. Mary Dillavou of Yarmouth, IA, Mrs. Ruth Speakman of Emporia, Kansas, Mrs. Clara Barton and Mrs. Eva Barton of Salem, IA; one sister Mrs. Anna Masden of Big Wells, Texas preceded her in death five years ago. Mrs. Forsyth was a woman of sterling worth, devoted to her home and family. She was a member of the Methodist Church and her funeral service was conducted by her pastor from the funeral home and she was laid away in the Beatrice cemetery. Her sister, Mrs. Watts and daughter Esther of Yates Center, KS and her brother, James of Salem, IA attended the funeral.
