Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Mrs. Harris, whose maiden name was Eva Kirkpatrick, was born in Brown County, Ohio, November 17, 1852. She married James E. Harris in Xenia, Ohio, August 14, 1894. They came to Kansas in 1885 and to Emporia in 1931. Surviving are a son, Fred Harris of Omaha, Neb., and one daughter, Mrs. Jaquith of Emporia. Two granddaughters and two grandsons also survive. ***************************************** Many Quenemo residents will mourn the death of Mrs. Harris, as the family lived in this vicinity for nearly thirty years before moving to Emporia. Their home was on the farm now owned by Harve Harris (no relation). The family was prominent in school and church circles. Mr. Harris taught school in many of the districts in this vicinity. Their daughter and son graduated from Quenemo school. Mrs. Harris was a gentlewoman of the highest type.
