Description	:	28 Feb 2002 Imperial Republican "Eva LaDene Hudnall Eva LaDene Hudnall was born on March 6, 1926, at the family farm north of Wauneta, NE to Walter S. and Laura M. (Fanning) Wheeler. As a young girl she attended country school at District #60 and graduated from Wauneta High School in 1943. Read More	28 Feb 2002 Imperial Republican "Eva LaDene Hudnall Eva LaDene Hudnall was born on March 6, 1926, at the family farm north of Wauneta, NE to Walter S. and Laura M. (Fanning) Wheeler. As a young girl she attended country school at District #60 and graduated from Wauneta High School in 1943. LaDene furthered her studies at Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, OK studying Home Economics. After living for a year in Corpus Christi, Texas, LaDene returned to the Wauneta area. On August 19, 1945, she married Averill Stewart Hudnall in Wauneta. The couple settled on the Hudnall home place west of Imperial, NE where they farmed and raised their family. LaDene passed away Saturday Feb 23, 2002 at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, NE. She was 75 years of age. LaDene was very active in the United Methodist Church of Imperial, and she was a member of the United Methodist Women at the local and district levels. She was a Sunday school and Awana teacher and a choir member. LaDene was a member of the Golden West Extension Club and a leader in the Golden West 4-H Club. She was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and the Nebraska Wheat Hearts. LaDene's life exemplified Christian values. She was especially interested in foreign missions and social justice and often included United Methodist missions in the itinerary when she and Averill traveled. She was a warm and loving mother who made sure her family had a variety of experiences. She taught her children Christian values and helped them experience unconditional love. LaDene was the correspondent for her extended family, writing numerous letters and later sending e-mails. She was an active care giver to many in the community. LaDene was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law Jan; brothers, Keith Wheeler, Francis Wheeler; sisters, Opal Ripper and Velma Crawford. Survivors include husband, Averill of Imperial, Neb.; daughter, Colleen McClelland and husband Robert, Beatrice, Neb; son Bill Hudnall, Westminster, Colo.; daughter Penny Catlett and husband, Fred, Hastings, Neb.; grandchildren: Eric McClelland, Lincoln, Neb.; Julie McClelland, Beatrice, Neb.; Gina Dinnan and husband Kevin, Laughlin, Ariz.; Renee Dillon and husband, Jesse, Westminster Colo.; Ryan Hudnall, Westminster, Colo.; Jennie Catlett, Hastings, Neb.; great-grandchildren: Ariel Dinnan, Laughlin, Ariz and Angeliece Dillon, Westminster, Colo; sister Marvel Miller, Imperial, Neb; brother Dr. Carroll Wheeler and wife Mary, Greeley Colo; brother Don Wheeler and wife Lillian, Crescent, Iowa; brother Gerald Wheeler and wife Freida, Louisville, KY; brother, Wesley Wheeler and wife Marjorie, Wauneta, Neb; and sister ValJean Soper and husband, Harry, Onset, Mass.; many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb 27, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Imperial with Rev. Murray Schmechel officiating. Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial Neb. Memorials can be made to the United Methodist church of Imperial, Rainbow Promise Preschool of Imperial or the American Heart Association. Liewer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
